Voice Chat Won't Be Available In The New Battlefield 2042 Video Game At First Launch
In Battlefield 2042, voice chat is not going to be available in any way, so you'll have to find other means of communicating with your fellow players while the game is still being developed.
According to a recent DICE interview, voice chat should be available shortly after the full launch on November 19. This is a detail that EA and DICE confirmed in their Battlefield 2042 beta recap, where they said that built-in voice chat was "set to come in after launch." Players with early access to Battlefield 2042 already know that it isn't available right now.
"Battlefield 2042" arrived in Early Access a week before its public release on November 19. Communication without voice chat is much more difficult, but Battlefield 2042 has a ping system with a detailed menu that allows you to choose exactly what you want to highlight for your teammates. Unfortunately, ping is very inconvenient and troublesome. It requires you to get the correct ping through multiple menus, not the smart ping system in games like Apex Legends. In any mode in Battlefield 2042, the lack of voice chat is frustrating for single-player social players, but it is most noticeable in dangerous areas.
This is a team-based tactical game mode in which you and your three allies will fight different enemy teams and AI opponents. Hazard Zone is conceived as a thoughtful and strategic game, but the lack of voice chat makes it difficult to play alone. Steal most of the fun mode unless you have a dedicated team of friends to play with, talk to via Discord or your console's group chat. DICE did not explain why it dropped voice chat from the Battlefield 2042 launch, but the studio said it is working on the feature and that it should be added shortly after release, although the developer did not specify when this might happen.
The game will be available to everyone on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Windows PC, Xbox Series X, and Xbox One on November 19.
